A good h.264 proxy is a tenth the size of the camera original, and it plays like nothing. The creative decisions happen at full speed, not at render speed.

Relink, don't re-edit

The trick is the relink. If your proxy filenames match your originals, the swap is automatic. If they don't, you lose a weekend. Ours match.
