A film with exactly one cut is the hardest thing to shoot and the easiest to overthink. Here's why the single take holds.

No escape

One take means no cut to hide behind. Every frame has to earn its place, and the audience can feel it.

The grade does the cutting

When you can't cut, you grade — darken the corner, lift the face, pull the eye with color instead of edits. That's the whole art.
